The Castello di Odescalchi in Bracciano honours stylist
Roberto Capucci with an exhibition about his works:
‘Sovrana Eleganza’ – Sovereign Elegance – on display until December 13th, 2009.
An exhibition – personally curated by Roberto Capucci
himself - will take us in a journey to his vast creative
carrier through 66 “sculpture-dresses” all of them on
display in the museum’s public rooms. Besides the
dresses, 25 sketches of theatrical costumes will be
exhibited for the first time.
The display will be organised in two parts: the first
showroom, La Sala delle Armi (Weapons room), will
exhibit wedding gowns shaped with beautifully sculpted
fabrics. The second showroom, Il Guardaroba (the
Wardrobe), once use to keep precious dresses and fabrics,
will gather the designer creations' shapes and colours.
Several famous women have appreciated and even paid
tribute to the stylist throughout the years. Between all 66
Capucci’s creations, dresses related to distinguished names
of the Italian culture and international community will also
be exhibited. A dress wore by Rita Levi Montalcini on the
Nobel awards ceremony will open the exhibition, followed
by others wore by Valentina Cortese and actress Esther
Williams.
