Carnival Magic is the first ever-nighttime theme park in Thailand. The traditional festivals, carnival and markets fairs are held in the country inspire the various attractions the carnival offers.
A team headed by creator, Kittikorn Kewkacha, CEO of Phuket FantaSea and Carnival Magic, designed the artistic aspect of the project in-house. Structural expertise was obtained from Architect 110. The overarching concept of Carnival Magic combines colorful festival, parades and carnivals from different regions of Thailand.
Spanning across 40 acres, the architecture, interior and exterior of the park is inspired by the legend of Kamala, which is set in a kingdom hidden under the waters of Kamala Bay. The restaurant, theater and light park, are built in ancient Kamala-Thai style. There is also a Thai carnival themed shopping street. The building site had originally been a barren land with a water-filled mine hole with massive Banyan tree. These geographical nuances have been incorporated into the structural design of the carnival site. The Banyan tree is preserved as one of the main features of the park and has been named Cotton candy.

The Carnival Fun Fair is recreated along a street with themed shopping arcades, boutique eateries and bars, along street dancing and parade performers. Fun rides and games for children are also featured. River Palace Paradium houses the worlds largest indoor parade – ‘River Carnival Parade’. It features 70-meter-long parade floats, designed after Thai-style carnival parades.
The Kingdom of Lights incorporates over 40 million artificial lights, integrated in patterns inspired from ancient architecture and historical legends. The ‘Luminarie’ zone comprises massive steel frames that are modelled into artful structures and lit up with lights. Carnival Magic features two luxury restaurants: Birds of Paradise Buffet Restaurant and River Bliss Luxury. The latter is themed following the world-renowned Thai festival of Loy Kratong (river candle floats), and provides an intimate dining experience. The impression put forward by the use of colour and vibrancy alongwith architecture inspired by legends and myths, is that of a wholesome and exotic experience. Carnival Magic will be officially opened in early 2020.
