Tourism can be the cultural strength that configures, interprets and transforms, from the experienced throughout the built environment.

How tourism influences the built environment can be witnessed through the projects presented in this edition, from a visitor's center in El Salvador, to the Ecological Hotel Kawilal in Guatemala, the landscape of a beach hotel in Cancun or a restoration of an old building into a new hotel in Cuernavaca, and the particularity of the underground system in Mexico City: the only one in the world which was designed with a graphic code for analphabet users.
