It took less than 48 hours to reach the goal on Kickstarter. The idea came from Marjan van Aubel Studio which designed Sunne, a rechargeable lamp that is sustainable, technological and affordable. Sunne is 85 cm long and can be hung on windows with two metal wires. Inside are solar cells created in collaboration with one of Europe's most advanced energy research centres: ECN.TNO. The lamp recharges during the day and recreates natural light as needed, mimicking the three moments of the sun: dawn, noon and dusk. Marjan van Aubel's aim is to create objects that can be self-sufficient and rechargeable with light, in her own words: “I believe in solar democracy, solar energy for everyone, everywhere”.
