Oscar Tusquets from A to Z
Organised like an encyclopaedia is the extensive exhibition dedicated to the work of Oscar Tusquests Blanca. Classified in strict alphabetical order from a for “Abanica” (the wicker chair produced by Driade since 1988) to z for “zapato de tacón de aguja” (stilleto heeled sandals), 210 industrial products, prototypes, books, models, paintings and original drawings created by the Catalan maestro born in Barcelona in 1941.
The exhibition, curated by Juli Capella who had already translated into 471 encyclopaedic entries the life and work of Tusquests, is enriched with testimonials from the many people who have collaborated with the architect/designer – from Guillermo Cabrera Infante, Rafael Moneo and Fernando Savater to Milton Glaser and Mario Vargas Llosa – that with a series of anecdotes and curiosities, add a human touch making it a kind of biography of the “most polyhedral creative person of the contemporary Spanish scene and the only”, explains Capella “who deserves an encyclopaedia”.
