Tobias Rehberger builds environments that play with light and space as well as with pieces of design (his favourites are those from the 1960s and ‘70s) and assorted objects. The cars built by Thai craftsmen on the basis of a few sketches have, for example, become famous. After a successful series of exhibitions in Europe and the Far East, this German artist born in 1966 in Eisslingen comes to the Fondazione Prada (until 6 June) with a site-specific project. In Milan he will be presenting On Otto, an architectural installation and film where a number of famous actors and actresses such as Kim Basinger and Willem Dafoe are filmed sitting in the audience of a deserted cinema while visitors to the installation become the film’s protagonists.
