Taj Ganj

Involving shopkeepers and local residents, a strategical plan by Studio Archohm improves Taj Ganj market’s urban nature and helps in upgrading basic amenities and infrastructures.

Taj Ganj is a 400 year old market district, sharing the peripheral skyline of the Taj Mahal. Taj Ganj’s unique urban condition has escaped major state interventions towards urbanization. Involving stakeholders like shopkeepers and local residents, a strategical plan improves the street character and helps in upgrading the basic amenities and infrastructure. The proposal includes a urban scale development of the streets by resurfacing the carriage and providing pedestrian foot paths, cycle tracks, landscape parks, seatings, toilets, security infrastructures.
