German architect Ungers died in his eighties on October 6. A theorist on architecture understood as an assembly of archetypal forms filtered by the culture and poetry of place, he designed many public buildings for culture around the world, leaving unfinished the restoration of the Pergamon Museum in Berlin due to be completed in 2015.
