S.O.S. Wright

Wynant House (built in 1915 at Gary, Indiana) was burnt last month. Ennis House (built in 1924 on the Los Feliz hills above Los Angeles), after having been damaged by the earthquake in 1994, was declared unfit for use by the city council last March, following a number of violent storms that resulted in the collapse of a retaining wall. Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture has known better times.

To protect Ennis House, a foundation has been established that brings together three groups (National Trust for Historic Preservation, Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy and Los Angeles Conservancy). Its aim is to raise funds (6-10 million dollars) to restore the villa. The campaign is being lead by Diane Keaton. E.S.
