The Florentine practice – winner of a competition in which the Germans Bolles & Wilson, the Belgians Kaveer De Geyter and the young Albanian name SON projektim were also invited to participate – has developed a skyscraper, 85 metres tall, with a complex functional programme: underground car parks, shops, offices, housing and a panoramic luxury hotel on the top floor.
All this in addition to the public spaces on the ground floor, obtained by narrowing the base of the structure. Once again, with this project entitled “4 ever green”, Marco Casamonti has combined the contemporary with tradition: that of the walls of Tirana’s old towers and that of the weave of the old regional fabrics 'cited' in the texture that envelopes the building.
