Massimiliano Fuksas: the Open Kilometer
Already anticipated by the international media with images of the enormous crater (more than 1,000 metres in length) marked by a gigantic glass sail, Massimilliano Fuksas’s new extraordinary Fiera di Milano exhibition centre design will begin revealing itself to the public in a series of previews and inaugurations. The first is expected March 29 (but the exact timing will only be known at the last minute).
The book published by Editoriale Domus and edited by Fondazione Fiera Milano and Anna Giorgi with Stefano Casciani’s editorial direction will also to be presented on the occasion. Images in the book by Federico Brunetti, Donato Di Bello, Ramak Fazel and Pino Guidolotti document the design, the building site, the workers and the first realisations (the entire complex will only be operational in 2006). These are accompanied by numerous critical texts and a long interview with Massimiliano Fuksas.
