Perret: the poetry of concrete, 1900-1954
The first major exhibition to be dedicated to the Perret brothers has been organised at the Musée Malraux in Le Havre opening 2 September. It brings together extensive documentation from public and private archives on the Perrets in an attempt to offer an overall picture of their work and redefine the contribution of Auguste to both the French and international architecture scene.
It includes original drawings never before seen in public, archive photographs and models which help to illustrate the particular nature of their technical approach to the various problems presented by the use of reinforced concrete.
The exhibition also allows the possibility to look beyond the more famous work of the Perrets associated with concrete and discover a lesser known but interesting side of Auguste with his work in furniture and interiors with a selection of original pieces which have been restored.
