If the chair is the design object par excellence – as a synthesis of function and aesthetics – the outdoor chair is the piece of furniture that best represents the contemporary age: light and slender, yet strong, versatile and comfortable, nomadic and easily stackable, it combines performance, practicality and style.

Doga, the new collection of outdoor furniture designed by Raffaello Galiotto for Nardi, symbolises the complexities of this typology: Inspired by classic seating, whose slatted design is reinterpreted, the chair is a unique piece made using contemporary technology.

“The design of the collection is based on a cylindrical shape featured throughout the frame and sectioned for the slats” Galiotto explains, “Each slat is a kind of half-cylinder resting on the frame and connected thanks to sophisticated 3D modelling software, which has led to a pleasant effect of visual and tactile softness.”

The Doga collection – consisting of seats with and without armrests, a lounge chair and a coffee table – is ideal for any outdoor environment, both domestic and contract. In addition to the features already mentioned, we add that it is easily sanitised and completely recyclable, following two of the main needs of our time: safety and environmental sustainability. In this sense, in addition to making durable products, using fully recyclable polypropylene and committing to a controlled, Made in Italy supply chain, from 2019 the company has launched the Regeneration industrial programme to produce a line of outdoor furniture in recycled plastic.

The many chromatic shades proposed are declined according to the variety of contexts and environments in which the collection can be confronted: they go from White, Anthracite and Tobacco for spaces with an industrial and urban style, to warm and earthy shades for historical contexts. Different tones of green are available with Mint, Pear and Agave for spaces dominated by nature, and Marsala for eclectic and colourful environments.
