Progettato dallo studio catalano GCA Architects, l'edificio per uffici Smart 22@ è la prima architettura smart della Spagna: un nuovo e importante tassello per l'hub tecnologico di Barcellona, ​​un'area di circa 200 metri quadri diventata negli ultimi anni una delle zone più cosmopolite e innovative non solo della città, ma dell'Europa.

The morphology of the building is based on urban integration, with great respect for the neighbouring buildings, such as the former textile factory 'La Escocesa'. One of the main challenges of the project was to design the façade with a distinctive bronze appearance, which would give the entire structure an elegant look, but also blend in perfectly with the neighbourhood's rich industrial history. At the same time, however, the architects had to ensure that the glazing met stringent requirements for LEED and WELL environmental certifications. In this regard, AGC was able to identify the ideal solution with Coating On Demand: a customised coating that fully meets the specific requirements of Smart 22@, masterfully combining aesthetics, performance and sustainability.

Thanks to AGC's Coating On Demand, Smart 22@ achieved excellent sustainability credentials, attaining LEED Platinum certification, a rating reserved for the most environmentally friendly and resource-efficient buildings, as well as WELL Gold certification, a clear endorsement of the architects' commitment to promoting the well-being and health of the building's occupants. Smart 22@'s innovative digital infrastructure, which provides reliable connectivity for users, also achieved WiredScore certification.
