Caimi: designing acoustic comfort

  • Sponsored content

An integrated system of surfaces, textiles and technologies transforms acoustics into a design matter, redefining comfort as a diffuse quality of contemporary space.

Acoustic comfort is not the result of a single intervention, but of a combination of elements working together. It is on this principle that Caimi's approach is based, and with the Snowsound system it builds a true ecosystem of solutions: fabrics, panels, curtains, upholstery and furniture designed to intervene on sound in a diffuse manner. Acoustics thus ceases to be a technical correction and becomes an integral part of the design, a quality that helps define the space as much as light or materials.

The intervention in sound also passes through color and material. Surfaces are not neutral, but actively participate in the construction of the environment: warm and deep tones, lighter and desaturated palettes, natural colors or more pronounced accents allow calibrating not only the visual atmosphere, but also the perceptual one. In this sense, acoustic design is increasingly approaching interior design, working by layers and relationships rather than by isolated elements.

Acoustics stops being a technical correction and becomes an integral part of the project.

Wall coverings such as Snowall and Snowall Maxi respond to this logic by operating over extensive surfaces. Applied to the wall with continuity, they enable improved acoustic performance without interrupting the reading of the space. The textile finish introduces a tactile dimension that softens the environment, while the possibility of adapting the panels directly during installation allows them to respond precisely to different architectural configurations.

The basis of these solutions is Snowsound Fiber technology, developed through years of research. Woven polyester fibers interact with the air, absorbing and modulating sound depending on their arrangement, treated surface area and distance from the wall. The result is a flexible system, capable of adapting to different contexts without requiring invasive intervention, and working on acoustic comfort in a calibrated way.

The research is not only about performance, but also about sensory experience. Fabrics-from solid colors to bouclé, velvet to melange effects-are designed to be worked with and combined freely, becoming part of the interior design. Even traditional elements such as curtains are reinterpreted acoustically, becoming devices capable of improving sound quality without sacrificing the decorative component.

Sound is not eliminated: it is designed.

Founded over seventy years ago, Caimi has built over time a production system strongly rooted in the territory, with short supply chains and a focus on environmental impact. Materials research, collaboration with research institutes and the development of proprietary technologies have led to the definition of an offering that integrates design, performance and sustainability. In this balance, acoustics finds a new centrality, becoming a concrete part of the way we inhabit contemporary spaces.
