For a decade the Brillux Design Award, presented every two years by an international jury of independent experts drawn from the fields of architecture, interior design and decoration, has set the standard for excellence in architectural design and offers participants significant international exposure. 

The competition is organized into five categories: in the Residential Buildings, Public and Commercial Buildings as well as, and Historical Buildings/Stylized Facades sections, prizes are awarded for originally built facades. The remaining two categories, Interior Concepts for Working, are reserved for interior design submissions. The prize winners take home a share of 25,000 euros in prize money.

Shortlisted candidates and winners will receive dedicated support aimed at optimizing communication including exclusive PR coverage, high quality photography and a license to use the Award’s official logo. “The Brillux Design Award is much more than just a competition. It is a true symbol of excellence in teamwork”, says Sebastian Roß, Head of Marketing for Brillux.

Submissions can be made up until 31 December 2026 by contacting either your Brillux sales representative or the export department (export@brillux.com / +49 251 7188-229). In the spring of 2027, once the entries have been reviewed, the jury will come together to assess all the material submitted. Three projects will be shortlisted for each category. A special prize will also be awarded for “High Energy Efficiency Facades”, selected from across all categories.

The awards ceremony will take place in Novem-ber 2027 at the LWL Museum of Art and Culture in Münster, in Germany, during a special gala evening.
