The Keplan aluminum pergola, designed by KE, combines technical performance with with a minimalist profile that reduces its visual impact.
Much more than a simple piece of outdoor furniture, in contemporary design the pergola lies somewhere between a design object and a real miniature architecture, as well as being a real challenge for designers, who are tasked with developing products that can withstand heavy rains as well as heat. In the case of this terrace overlooking Lake Como, the client wanted a space to be experienced in every season, protected from the weather but in total harmony with the natural beauty of the setting.
The project therefore turned to a solution with a sober, high-performance profile, capable of combining aesthetics and functionality without compromising the visual impact on the lake landscape. And this is where Keplan, the innovative flat-roof pergola by KE, comes in. Made entirely of aluminum, Keplan stands out for its essential and modular structure, designed to integrate discreetly into any contemporary architectural environment. Its clean lines break with the traditional slope of classic pergolas, proposing instead a roof with a lowered arch that improves formal balance and reduces visual clutter.
In the Como project, the intervention was enhanced by the choice of Carbon finish, with chromatically coordinated profiles and transoms, in keeping with the building's sober and elegant style. To complete the atmosphere, a refined LED lighting system embedded in the transoms, which accentuates the volumes and creates suggestive plays of light in the evening hours.
