In October, the 48th edition of Hotel returns to Fiera Bolzano, featuring many innovations focused on sustainability and a special emphasis on South Tyrol and food excellence.

From Monday, October 21 to Thursday, October 24, 2024, Fiera Bolzano will host the 48th edition of “Hotel”, one of the most highly anticipated and prestigious events in the hospitality and fine dining sector. This is a must-attend event for professionals and enthusiasts in the world of hôtellerie, offering the chance to engage with the latest trends and innovations, while exploring the evolving landscape of a constantly changing industry. This year, the “Hotel” program is particularly rich and focuses on three major themes, each representing a crucial aspect of the future of hospitality: Architecture & Design, Food & Drink, and Human Resources. These three pillars are fundamental for a sector increasingly oriented towards sustainable and cutting-edge solutions.

The Architecture & Design theme will explore the most innovative solutions for hospitality space design, with a special focus on sustainability. Industry professionals will be able to discover projects that integrate eco-friendly materials, low environmental impact construction techniques, and strategies for building reuse and restoration. Guided tours of some exemplary hotels in South Tyrol, located in the stunning valleys of Val Gardena, Val Venosta, and Val Pusteria, are scheduled for Tuesday, October 22 and Wednesday, October 23. These hotels, rich in history, are the perfect example of how tradition can blend with innovation. During each visit, participants will witness firsthand how historical buildings have been expertly transformed to welcome guests in contemporary luxury settings without losing their original charm. Behind these projects are visionary entrepreneurs who have embraced the future while preserving the past, relying on designers with great sensitivity. Each hotel tells a unique story, with meticulous attention to detail and quality, enhancing the surrounding landscape by choosing solutions that promote greenery, the use of natural materials, and harmonious integration with the environment. Tour guests will not only discover architectural beauty but also the innovative strategies adopted to improve guest comfort and experience.

The Food & Drink theme will highlight innovations in the culinary offerings, with a special focus on innovation and sustainability. Now more than ever, fine dining faces the challenge of combining culinary excellence with environmental responsibility. During the event, visitors will learn how chefs and restaurateurs are experimenting with new ways to reduce their ecological footprint. In addition to food, the ambiance in which guests are welcomed, as well as the details of the table settings and seating, play a crucial role in the overall guest experience. Thus, gastronomy, design, and architecture intersect, opening up an important dialogue.

The third theme, Human Resources, focuses on another essential and often overlooked aspect: staff training. No hotel, no matter how sophisticated or advanced, can offer a truly excellent experience without a well-prepared, motivated staff capable of conveying warmth and professionalism. In a sector where technology and automation are increasingly present, the value of human interaction remains priceless. Staff training involves not only technical skills but also interpersonal, emotional, and cultural competencies. The goal is to create teams capable of anticipating guests’ needs and providing personalized, high-quality hospitality. During “Hotel,” visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in human resource management, with special attention to employee well-being and the creation of inclusive and stimulating work environments.

One of the most eagerly awaited moments of the event is undoubtedly the presentation of the Hotel Sustainability Awards, returning for the sixth consecutive edition. These awards celebrate the best sustainable practices and solutions in the hospitality industry, highlighting the importance of a green approach at every stage of hotel management. Among the most relevant categories is the Sustainable Tourism Pioneers award, divided into two subcategories: 360° and Together. The first is for establishments already holding environmental certifications that demonstrate a comprehensive commitment to sustainability. The second, Together, is for smaller entities that, although not yet widely recognized, are making significant strides toward sustainable development. This award offers an excellent opportunity to showcase emerging establishments that, with passion and determination, are transforming their approach to hospitality.

“Hotel” 2024 is not just a place to discover the latest industry trends in design, restoration, interior design, furniture, and accessories, as well as food experiences and staff management, but also a networking platform for professionals. Here, architects, designers, entrepreneurs, chefs, and trainers can exchange ideas and create new collaborations. The fair provides a unique opportunity for those looking to grow and innovate in the hospitality and dining world, with a keen eye on sustainability and quality.
