Designed by Michele De Lucchi’s studio, Lana is the first radiator from Antrax IT to feature a modular configuration.
"There is often too much distance between the intimate world of design and the disenchanted consumerist world of production, use and destruction. I would like to recharge products with a richer valence of feelings and humanity, eradicating the indifference of the standardised mass product," explained Michele De Lucchi in an old interview.
This can be said to be the main theme of his design projects, which can be found both in the homes of many people - in Italy and beyond - and in the collections of the world's most prestigious design museums.
With this approach, the architect and his studio AMDL Circle have worked on the new Lana radiator, produced by Antrax IT. This is the Italian company's first modular radiator, developed from a square 33x33 cm tile with rounded corners and a rounded effect: made of 100% recyclable cast aluminium, it allows multiple configurations to achieve the desired thermal comfort.
The surfaces of the radiant modules present elegant pleats, inspired by the yarns of the textile world to which the elegant patchwork given by the combination of several modules, oriented horizontally or vertically, also refers. Hence the name of the collection, which also reinforces the theme of inspiration with the exclusive selection of embossed finishes in different colours, in their pleasant tactile and material effect.

The radiator is customisable in terms of colours and configuration possibilities: from a minimum of three elements, linear, to a maximum of twelve, organised in two rows and with alternating patterns, it can also give life to side-by-side compositions of several models, in continuity, staggered or grouped in an important square format. Its expressive force emerges from the play of light and shadow created by the three-dimensional texture, which makes Lana a product with a strong plastic component.
"Warmth is a sensation that has always been linked to the concept of domestic hospitality, warmth envelops you and makes you feel good. We therefore thought of an object that generates warmth and makes you approach it, let you touch it, make you want to rest your hands on it. With a play of light and shadows broken up on a convex and pleated surface, we made what is not seem soft, offering all those pleasant sensations of comfort that a woollen jumper can give," says Michele De Lucchi, founder of AMDL Circle.
The matrix from which the radiator comes to life is designed to increase the radiating capacity: the pleated pattern offers a dual decorative and functional value, and allows high thermal performance to be achieved in the electric and hydraulic versions, the last of which is powered by a very low water content. Lana can also be accessorized with a handle on which to store towels, facilitating its use in the bathroom environment.
