Premium ceramic surfaces for a modern villa

Architectural firm Bizzarro & Partners chose materials by FMG and Iris Ceramica to clad the interior and exterior surfaces of a house in Ferrara.

A distinctly modern architecture, punctuated by rigorous and essential architectural volumes, a dwelling that responds to the complex needs of the contemporary world: living in large, bright rooms without sacrificing privacy. Villa FZ is a project realised by architect Sergio Bizzarro of Studio Bizzarro & Partners, together with architect Simone Savio, at Lido degli Estensi, a seaside resort in the province of Ferrara.

The architects designed an "introflexed" structure, that is, one that completely overlooks the internal patio and swimming pool with large windows. Also isolating the house from its neighbours is the design of the garden, which encloses Villa FZ as if in a casket.

To improve the wellbeing and healthiness of the rooms, Studio di architettura Bizzarro & Partners chose to customise the interior surfaces with FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti's MaxFine slabs and the exterior surfaces with Iris Ceramica materials.

Among the various products used are the Marmi MaxFine Statuario Light 300x100 cm surfaces, which cover the walls of the entrance and the external covered atrium; the Marmi MaxFine Black Marquinia 300x150 cm collection with Silky finish was chosen for the double-height space that defines the living area.

For the floorings, in a visual continuum of neutral, natural hues, the stone effect was favoured: inside, Pietre MaxFine Lavica Grey 300x100 cm was used, while outside, in the patio, swimming pool and walkways, Pietra di Basalto Grigio by Iris Ceramica was chosen, in the 120x60 cm size, with an R11 slip coefficient.

Aesthetic value and technical performance, plus hygiene and easy cleaning: FMG's MaxFine surfaces and Iris Ceramica's material permit free, transversal design, becoming a passe-partout for covering horizontal and vertical surfaces, indoors and outdoors.
