Among the possible definitions of “oasis”, in the Treccani dictionary we can find: “Place, environment, condition, moment and similar which offer characteristics that are much more pleasant than those of the context in which they are found or occur.”

Oases are not only those in the middle of deserts, but can also be found in our cities and inside our homes. In societies that are increasingly frenetic and dictated by individualism, finding oases for sharing and conviviality is increasingly essential. Architect Maurizio Manzoni started from this basic, everyday need to design the Oasi sofa, produced by Cantori.

With its furniture, the Italian company proposes environments and opportunities dedicated to the care of the self and the care of “us”. With the new collection, Manzoni and Cantori also investigate the material and its spirit, enhancing human ingenuity and craftsmanship.

Various modular elements – from the classic corner unit to the ergonomic chaise longue and the pouf – allow the sofa to adapt to any context and shape the most diverse convivial situations. Each of us has his or her own rituals and habits, and imagines being together in a different way. This factor makes it possible to create new dimensions and solutions depending on the modules chosen, which can be redesigned from time to time.

As is typical of Cantori's style and vision, also in Oasi we find a skilful dialogue between metal and fabric. In this case, a laser-cut bronzed metal plate contains the sofa and becomes a precious detail for the upholstered furniture.

Every detail is extremely accurate also at the anatomical level: the internal structure is made of beech wood and poplar plywood, while the springing is guaranteed by non-deformable elastic belts. The structural upholstery is in polyurethane foam, with differentiated high density, and the upper layer has a high elastic component. The cushioning is of non-deformable differentiated density in feather and synthetic layer. The pouf is upholstered with light capitonné workmanship. The round island, on the other hand, has a circular backrest with a metal structure, padded and upholstered in leather.
