In a constantly evolving world like that of hospitality, there is an ever-increasing need for products capable of representing new lifestyles and combining innovation and extreme personalisation. To address these issues, Lualdi has relied on a master of international design, Philippe Starck, whose collaboration has resulted in the new Welcome collection.

At the heart of the doors designed by Starck is a system of accessories – the handle, the step marker and the number, plus the tablet – which, in addition to characterising the openings, is used to manage the various services dedicated to hotel guests, from check-in to the management of room domotics. A wide variety of finishes is available for the flush-to-wall door – wood, matt lacquer, aluminium – to adapt the project to any aesthetic requirement.

The collaboration between the company and the French designer brings together avant-garde design, the company's tailoring skills and an advanced production system.

The result is an active architectural element. Welcome is conceived by Starck not as a simple object, but as a complex device that mediates between two worlds and defines new rituals of passage. All this thanks to the designer's visionary gaze. "Interactive and connected, as envisaged by Philip K. Dick in his novel Ubik, the Welcome collection responds to a series of needs: to recognise people, to warm a house, to send messages, to become a screen, to welcome and protect us," says the author of iconic projects such as the Juicy Salif juicer and the Marie Ghost and Louis Ghost chairs.

The accessories conceived by the designer make the door "speak", interpreting the rapid evolution of the contemporary market. Each element that punctuates the surface can be customised and is equipped with a backlighting system, which highlights its three-dimensionality with respect to the flatness of the flush wall door.

Pierluigi Lualdi, the company's Contract Manager, recounts the relationship with the designer: "We have established a fruitful collaboration with Philippe Starck, we love his witty spirit and his ability to create objects with original shapes.
