Avant-garde in the field of design, art, music and more, a cosmopolitan and multicultural centre, an intense city always full of energy: London is the city chosen by Ideal Standard as the venue for the third round of its innovative Together World Tour, the digital format that the company has created specifically for the international architecture and design community.

With this initiative, Ideal Standard presents its new Atelier Collections, a family of proposals that re-elaborate Ideal Standard's immense archive. Thanks to the contemporary talent of the Palomba Serafini Associati studio and its co-founder Roberto Palomba, chief design officer of Ideal Standard, the company reinterprets the iconic products of the past following the needs of today.

The protagonist of the London event on 23 September – for the first time also in person and not just online – is the Tipo-Z washbasin, which reinterprets an iconic product designed by Gio Ponti in 1954. "Tipo-Z is a natural evolution of Gio Ponti's original Zeta washbasin. It draws inspiration from modern life, from the diversity and points of view of various cultures and from Ideal Standard's rich design tradition, to present itself in a unique new guise designed for today's bathroom," said Roberto Palomba at the presentation.

Tipo-Z combines the timeless design of the Zeta washbasin with the dynamism of a city like London. The result is a sculptural and unmistakable product, which, thanks to new technologies, consists of a single element and has an ultra-thin shape that combines lightness and strength.
