Two simple houses, united but independent, establish a dialogue with their fascinating Alpine surroundings thanks to their precise, punctual openings which frame the different elements of the landscape. The residential project completed by architect Orsola Zannier in Bodio, Switzerland, was the result of a special request by two sisters who wanted to live together but in two separate dwellings: these had to have the same characteristics, the same views, the same relationship with the landscape and the same advantages.

To make the design proposal as balanced as possible, Zannier chose not to build a single block divided by floors, but two separate ones, joined by a small service volume. The two houses have an elementary profile, with two pitched roofs, are plastered white and diverge slightly in plan to avoid visual contact between them.

The study of the openings is one of the most important factors in the project. The collaboration between the designers and Finstral was fundamental to complete the sober and elegant character of the houses with the right window and door frames. For Orsola Zannier's project, FIN-Project Nova-line products were chosen, with an all-glass design. For one of the two houses, an internal and external profile in dark aluminium was chosen, while for the second house, the internal part of the window was clad in wood. This is one of the small details that characterise the two houses, maintaining a unique and coherent appearance from the outside.

The varied personal requirements of the two sisters have always been respected thanks to the versatility of FIN-Project Nova-line windows. With Finstral windows become a furnishing element capable of characterising the spaces in the house.
