Citterio

The dynamic offices of an Italian excellence

The invisible partitions and elegant furnishings produced by Citterio shape the workplaces of Webranking, a performance-oriented digital agency.

An innovative company, with a global team and an excellent working environment, also certified by Great Place to Work Italia. Webranking is one of the emerging Italian excellences in the growing panorama of digital entrepreneurship. In 2019 the company moved its headquarters in Reggio Emilia to the new "Park of Innovation, Knowledge and Creativity". This is a hub born from the architectural regeneration of the former Officine Reggiane industrial complex.

Inside Pavilion 18 of the Park, architect Andrea Oliva and Citterio have completed a project that reflects the avant-garde attitude of the agency, which is a partner of digital giants such as Google and Facebook.

The reuse enhances the historical traces and memory of the site, inserting new functions that can revive the abandoned structure. Webranking's offices are fluid and interconnected, mixing environments dedicated to work with places for sharing and socializing: a mirror of the evolution of contemporary work, which no longer takes place sitting for eight consecutive hours on one's desk, but requires dynamism and a continuous confrontation with the group.

The different spaces are ephemerally separated by the Vision glass walls, produced by Citterio, which are characterized by the absence of vertical uprights in the structure, making the partitions almost invisible. The large coloured walls make paths and functions immediately recognizable. On the other hand, the furniture used for the headquarters, including Citterio's Shard desks, characterized by the particular triangular shape of the supporting structure. Their design, designed by Pinuccio Borgonovo, is designed to organize the most varied operational tasks dictated by the new working methods with multiple solutions.

Particular attention has been paid to the architecture of the mechanical and electromechanical systems, which have been laid on sight in compliance with industrial aesthetic canons and chromatically neutralized to limit their formal perception only. A distinctive design element is the system of suspended lighting fixtures, with different shapes – concentric squares and sequential lines – that reinforce the spatial continuity of the various environments.
