Citterio presented Bridge, a new modular furniture system adaptable to the dynamism of contemporary work.

The office world evolves together with technology. In recent years, thanks to laptops, smartphones and tablets we can work from anywhere in the world, and at the same time we can connect the office to the rest of the world at any time. In the new blended offices, a new digital layer is added to the physical one: individual workstations become small meeting rooms or meeting places, office spaces have virtual extensions all over the planet. At the same time, the office space itself changes and adapts flexibly to increasingly dynamic operational requirements.

Open spaces are large containers in which individual work is mixed with various activities with colleagues and clients: receptions, meetings, breaks, leisure time and informal sharing. Such complex environments require privacy, acoustic well-being, ergonomic workstations, air quality, functionality and flexibility. The furniture industry is called upon to interpret, with creativity and competence, the new needs of the market and changes in habits through the production of furnishing systems open to continuous evolution.

Citterio responds to these trends with a modular furnishing system characterised by great flexibility. Bridge stands out for the vertical organisation of the various functions, combining each level with a specific function: 65 cm bench for lounge and support, 75 cm worktops and meetings, from 75 to 115 cm variable height worktops, 110 cm reception and quick meetings. The possibility of customisation, the variety of ways in which the furniture can be composed and aggregated and its flexibility make Bridge perfect for dynamic, activity-dense environments.

Acoustic panels and bookcases, benches and desks are freely combined following the formal trends of the contemporary office. The linear cabling of the benches makes them real operating flow lines that allow the use of any type of equipment in any position. The open spaces thus become open and constantly evolving systems, capable of accommodating the operating modes typical of the most innovative smart working.
