The bathroom is the environment of privacy and self care, a place where we need to feel comfortable and cultivate our well-being. For this reason, despite the now complete smartification of the house, it is the room where the introduction of technological devices is more slowly and carefully evaluated. Comfort and hygiene are the topics Laufen has been working on for the production of two new high-end shower WCs: Cleanet Navia and Cleanet Riva. In the two WCs, the technologically advanced solutions discreetly blend in with the compact and timeless design, which can be integrated with any type of bathroom furniture.

The two shower WCs designed by Peter Wirz for Laufen are almost identical to the standard sanitary ware currently on the market. Only a small knob on the side of the the completely closed ceramic body signals the innovations introduced by the Swiss brand. "Our idea of perfection comes from the harmony of the object, which is always closely linked to sobriety," explains the designer.

Cleanet Riva combines the elegance of its design with great functionality: the ergonomic side knob allows the management of the most important functions of the hand shower, while a touch screen remote control allows complete control of all its functions: intensity, position, temperature, type and duration of the spray can be individually customised.

Thanks to a smartphone app, the shower can also be controlled remotely, with the option of saving your favourite settings. Management from a mobile device is also ideal for travel, as you can apply the same settings to all Riva Cleanet units.

"We created Riva as a classic design toilet, as slim and elegant as possible and with a unique ceramic body. Its innovative technology has been deliberately kept in the background. Only the intuitively operated steel knob reveals superior comfort and high standards of hygiene," says the Swiss designer, who is owner of the Vetica studio in Lucerne.

In addition, Cleanet Riva, which is the top-of-the-range WC, features a feminine hand shower with a gentle water jet and pleasantly tempered temperature that can be activated with a secondary button elegantly integrated into the knob.

A thermal cleaning system inside the sanitaryware regularly disinfects it with water at 70°C. This is accompanied by a descaling program that frees the system from limescale depending on the degree of water hardness set in the system, thus ensuring its long life. The cleaning, descaling and maintenance activities are programmable through the app, which also allows you to customise the factory settings. The toilet therefore meets the highest hygiene standards, allowing the product to be used in the healthcare sector as well.

Cleanet Navia, instead, is designed for those who want a WC with shower at a reasonable price but do not want to give up the maximum comfort and hygiene. The product allows you to activate all the functions of the shower both from the knob on the side of the toilet bowl and through the app. The solid ceramic body, the removable standard seat and lid and the brimless toilet bowl – with integrated descaling function – ensure excellent hygiene, easy cleaning and long product life.
