Nendo, Sakura vase for Sèvres, 2017
At Milan Design Week Nendo will present a flower vase for French manufacturer Sèvres, with a cherry blossom branch peeking out from within. It seems as the tree is growing out of the outer surface and is fully blooming.

Cherry blossom petals have been affixed to the outer wall of the vase one by one, making it appear as if they were floating away on the wind, producing vibrantly expressive details that require a great amount of skill. The pieces represent the skills by porcelain artisans of Sèvres who have inherited the company’s know-how over 275 years of history and tradition.
