Yoshi Bar

Yoshi Bar, by Japanese designer Naoya Matsumoto, is a little shleter that uses six panels of reeds to resemble a traditional gabled roof stall.

Matsumoto choose for this little bar at the Seian University of Arts and Design in Otsu, Japan, a material that grows freely around Lake Biwa, in the Shiga Prefecture.

The panels are unable to stand alone, but placing them next to each other they create an intimate enclosure: a sculptural space where people can enjoy a relaxing atmosphere looking at the natural surroundings.

The simple construction system allowed Matsumoto to build the shelter in just two days.
