As of today, one the biggest unsolved problems of wearable devices is battery life. Even the most advanced smartwatch can last a day to a day and a half, based on the size of the battery and the daily usage. The Matrix Powerwatch tries to change that thanks to low power electronics that can run off of the heat generated by the wearer’s body. The second version of the watch, already  backed 18-fold on Indiegogo, adds a solar cell under the display, a heart rate sensor and a GPS tracking unit. The Matrix Powerwatch 2 sports a bezel of nylon-reinforced polycarbonate framing its anodized aluminum case. The device is also fully water-sealed up to 200m/200atm, thanks to a special polymeric gasket.
The minimum pledge to pre-order a unit on Indiegogo is 329$. The campaign ends in two days and the shipments will start in June.
