Zaha Hadid Architects has begun construction on three new metro stations for metro line extension of Dnipro, the third city of Ukraine. Teatralna, Tsentalna, and Muzeina stations aim is to reduce traffic congestion in the city center and to connect the eastern districts with it and with the Dnipro-Holovnyi railway station.

The stations’ design honors the rich craftsmanship traditions of the city, metallurgy and manufacturing through the steel entrance pavilions, each of them situated within a new public plaza, which provides an easily recognizable landmark that marks the access to the metro line. The sculpted entrances feature structural shells made from recycled steel from local foundries.

All of Dnipro’s three stations are expected to provide passengers with complete services in 2025.
