Gucci, when the protagonist is behind the catwalk

A transparent carousel, Fellini and the behind the scenes for the fashion show of the brand directed by Alessandro Michele.

The second day of Milan women's fashion week opens with Gucci. Alessandro Michele welcomed the guests from the backstage of the fashion show held at the Gucci Hub, designed by PiùArch. For this event, Gucci's creative director wanted to move the show behind the scenes. The spectator was invited to watch the show from its preparatory phase.

Once seated, however, one finds oneself in front of a circular stage, in a perpetual rotating movement, fenced in by showcases. In the background Fellini's voice: “The cinema, which was just that, was hypnotic, ritualistic, there was something religious.”  On this carousel there are the dressers still at work preparing the models, each with his own stand. At the center of this scenography reigns an enormous metronome made of neon, which scans the time.

Once the preparation is finished, the models are arranged in a circle around the perimeter of the stage, with the notes of Ravel's Bolero in the background, like mannequins behind an immobile display case. Follows a quick runway of the models around the podium. The parade closes as it began. Fellini's voice returns “a camera, an extraordinary troupe, a circus troupe, of those who put on a show while they mount the circus, equally they do it while they take it apart, and they are already leaving and the start becomes a show”.
