On July 22 Elon Musk started tweeting about the rebranding of Twitter in X, a name composed of a single letter that has always been repeated in all his projects: from x.com, the first name of Paypal, to Space X; passing through Model X Plaid, the Tesla SUV; xAi, who wants to understand “the true nature of the universe”, up to his son X Æ A-12 – although Musk claims that the first part of the name was wanted by his mother, Grimes.
Now – the domain x.com, purchased by Paypal in 2017 – has finally been used, and redirects to twitter.com, which according to Musk will become the “everything app”. The typical light-blue bird logo has also been replaced by a minimalist X, which should be reworked later.
It is not clear what will become Twitter, indeed X, for now, the number of DM will be limited for non-paying users, and apparently, users can soon publish “very long” texts and “complex articles”.
