Tás co olho

Invited to participate for the second time in a row to the Azores Fringe Festival, the portuguese collective Nora realized a conceptual installation within ancient vineyard.

Portuguese Coletivo Nora designed a lively installation within a vineyard in the Pico Island, the Azores. For the second time the young collective was invited to participate with an intervention during the Azores Fringe Festival.

The installation is situated at the MiratecArts Galeria Costa, within the idyllic landscape of the Vineyard of Pico Island, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main focus of the intervention was the creation of a place of enjoyment for the vineyard with the Pico mountain in the background. The collective used concrete blocks and gabion structure with the island’s volcanic stone; the choice of yellow as the main color creates a vivid contrast over the dominant black of the landscape. “Tás co olho” is an Azorean expression used to ask where you are looking.
