For the Glace et chocolat ice cream shop in Tokyo, Nendo plays with hues of brown and textures inspired by big slices of chocolate cake, providing a soft welcoming to customers.

Nendo completed the sister shop of the patisserie “à tes souhaits!” in Kichijoji, Tokyo, specialized in ice cream and chocolate. The interiors of Glace et chocolat revolves around the evocative wall textures.

The wall features a design where soil of various shades were stacked to make it look like they were cut and staggered, inspired by ice-cream cakes cut in slices. The wall’s soft curvature welcomes the visitors just like an envelope, and takes them into a warm space, where soft and subdued colours together with wood provide softness to the ambience.
