Forging Officina

Bringing the allure of forged iron, a raw material handed down through the centuries, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec added new pieces to Magis’ Officina collection. #MDW2017

At the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2017 Magis presented new pieces and the continuing story of a number of our successful collections. Among these Officina is a series of upholstered seatings and accessories designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec that explore a new creative language through the ancient fabrication process that is iron forging.

The products in this collection feature a typical wrought iron finish that makes them living design objects, and their distinctly industrial feel is guaranteed to create interesting contrasts between Italian design and traditional craftsmanship. This year’s addition is a two-seater bench and a collection of upholstered pieces: an armchair, an ottoman, two and three-seat sofas, all featuring the distinctive wrought iron structure.
