Spanish designer Jaime Hayon and Swedish firm Fritz Hansen are celebrating their long and fruitful partnership by installing a large hotel lobby in the heart of Brera. It is a luminous and colourful space, a sort of “tropical Scandinavia”, as he describes it, tangible proof that not only can Latin exuberance live alongside Nordic rigour and minimalism but together they bear excellent fruits. “Nothing is impossible if you try”, is his motto.

New ideas for 2017 include the modular Lune sofa as well as a line of accessories and a collection of sheets, cushions and vases. “Lune is modular seating but it isn’t rectangular as is the norm in Italy. Instead it embraces more international standards and organic forms. It is also low enough to offer sweeping views”, explains the designer.
“The Fritz Hotel is a form of expression”, continues Hayon “and you can have all sorts of experiences in a hotel lobby.” His partnership with Fritz Hansen “is an interesting journey because it’s a constant design exercise in an ongoing effort to create something worthwhile and long-lasting.”
