Håll Collection

For his furniture collection, Swedish designer Beau Birkett uses thermoformed PET felt made from recycled plastic bottles, that can be easily assembled and recycled again.

Presented at the London Design Fair Håll is a collection of furniture by Beau Birkett that utilises thermoformed PET felt made from recycled plastic bottles and responsibly sourced ash to create sustainable furniture.

The Swedish word håll has two meanings: ‘sustain’, or ‘hold’, in relationship to the tactile properties of the material. The whole collection is designed and manufactured in Sweden.

Usually applied in the car manufacturing industry, Thermoformed PET Felt is used for its sound dampening and shock resistance properties. The collection can easily be assembled, to be delivered flatpack and disassembled for recycling when no longer used.

Design and ceramics renew a shopping center

FMG Fabbrica Marmi and architect Paolo Gianfrancesco, of THG Arkitektar Studio, have designed the restyling of the third floor of Reykjavik's largest shopping center. Ceramic, the central element of the project, covers floors, walls and furniture with versatile solutions and distinctive character.
