The exhibition had on display 7 objects and furnishings inspired by 7 different songs. The designers chose a famous song and they translated it into special objects using the materials and techniques offerd by the companies promoted in the showroom. The competition referred to professionals and students, and seven winners were selected by the jury. The number has a special meaning since 7 is the number of musical notes.
Among the selected projects we find a cabinet designed by Federico Angi, coated with natural resin which reinterprets the song Living in a Box, by the homonymous british band. Further on, a wall lamp wall in Sahara Black stone by MGS and Erretiled designed by Alberto Ghirardello, representing the famous Black Hole Sun track, by Soundgarden. Among the Italian songs Tecnificio chose Il vitello dai piedi di balsa by Italian group Elio e le Storie Tese, that literally tranlates the title of the song, while Ghigos played Enzo Jannacci and his Vengo anch’io no tu no with a set of chairs. Fedra Villa created an armchair in marble and leather reinterpreting the notes of Chopin’s Nocturne Op. 9 n. 2, in collaboration with Opere Sonore, MGS and Tideo. The exhibition also showcased and umbrella and coat stack in marble, designed by Alberto Lago, inspired by the melodies of Rimmel by Francesco De Gregori, while Stanza 215 went for the jazzy atmosphere of To build a home, by Cinematic Orchestra.
