#117 Drawing the public into the creative design process is the focus of an exhibition organised by students of the Academy of Prague, which is celebrating its 130-year history. #salone2015

To celebrate the 130th anniversary of its foundation, the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague has come to Milan with an unconventional exhibition with the primary aim of involving visitors.

“Become a Part of Us” – its title – focuses more on the creation process than on results or objects themselves.

The exhibition is the brainchild of a team of students who have reconstructed their studio-home and offer visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the creative process. “Semi-finished products are available that the visitors can assemble with their own hands. They can take their product away.”, explains the director of the Furniture and Interior Design Department Jiri Pelcl “The joint work brings direct communication and discussion, which is extremely valuable for all creative activity.”

The only material adopted is cardboard, a symbolic material – explain the organisers – “It tells us that we should not forget ordinariness and moderation in creating things.”
