In May 2014, as a part of the “Revolution – Ortstermin 2014 Festival” and ZK/U Berlin Openhaus, Studio Osk presented a number of art and architectural collaborations, housed within a temporary pavilion.

Melbourne based Studio Osk, travelled to Berlin to build a temporary pavilion, presenting projects focused on how local communities can adapt to the ever transforming city.

The structure transformed throughout the five days of its existence to accommodate a series of installations, performances and workshops. Studio Osk aimed to interrogate what impacts global urban issues have on local conditions, in particular what similarities are shared, and what differences exist between growing urban communities around the world.
Located in a public park in the neighborhood of Moabit, the pavilion held a series of nine events in which Studio Osk invited international artists and curators to present work engaged in the idea of “the city”. A complex and growing locality itself, Moabit faces challenges that many communities do all around the world; gentrification forces, loss of identity, and the disappearance of local culture and tradition. Studio Osk asked the public to engage with the work presented, and ask itself as a community how it can galvanize its local identity whilst at the same time adapt to the inevitable changes of the 21st century city.
