Cose Turche

Thursday 3 July, at Rome's MAXXI Museum, a conversation of 6 voices about Istanbul, organised by Insula with Based Architecture, tells the metamorphosis of the Turkish metropolis.

MAXXI and Insula architettura e ingegneria with Based Architecture present “Cose Turche”, a conversation of six voices about Istanbul, aimed to recognize and trace the pulsating identity of a metropolis, which is able, with its current metamorphosis, to tell us about significant pieces of the third millennium urban culture.

Memory Architecture and public space in the XXI  century. Now more than ever, Turkey in general and in particular Istanbul are undergoing a major cultural and economic change, that is closely implicated with urban development and territorial morphological transformation, in a tight twine between the urban politics, the rewriting history, economic expansion and collective partecipation – that are paradigmatic issues of contemporary metropolis.

The conference is held by eminent names in the culture architectural and urban culture scene, and it is intended to be the occasion for a diffuse reflection about Istanbul urban development and the impressive transformation the city has been deeply involving in.
