During the Maker Faire Rome 2013, Tecnificio and Lino's Type presented Stampomatica: a pair of analogic micro-machines to print business cards and postcards. Stampomatica is a powerful expression of digital manufacturing that joined the memory of movable type printing and the DIY attitude. It's a meeting point between past and future, old things and innovation. A self-produced project that lets anyone to get close to the traditional printing techniques, to rediscover their charm and potential.

Thanks to a 3D printer and a laser cutter, you get not only an highly innovative product, but also a f lexible and versatile design. The two micro-machines are customizable according to the user's needs: anyone can chose the printing plate's design, the color of the material and ink, in addition to accessories for printing.
Stampomatica is presented in two different models: the first one can print business cards and the second one for creating postcards or invitations, announcements, coasters, etc and it will be sold on web channel.
This project comes from makers' spirit, from the knowhow and skills of the people that works with technology and experiences without ever losing contact with manual practices. It comes from cutting-adge tools wich transformed an idea, gave it a shape and materialized it: the results is a clean and linear object, stripped from the superf luous and invested with new meaning.
