The "quiet" rooms will "appear as if someone has been living there until recently, with the signs of re-located walls and floors worn from decades of use striking a contrast with the contemporary furniture and small objects which have yet to become part of somebody's life." Intended to offer a different perspective to the more lavish canvases at Salone, the installation endeavours to "offer a moment of consideration on the value and nature of our daily lives".
Karimoku New Standard items are designed by Tomas Alonso, TAF and ECAL/Lucien Gumy along with pieces from residents designers Scholten & Baijings , Big-Game, Sylvain Willenz and Teruhiro Yanagihara. The setting will be completed by other objects, textiles, ceramics, lights and mirrors, all of them by Karimoku New Standard's participating desigers.
