Dror Benshetrit for Cappellini
Tron Armchair is one of the new pieces Cappellini will present at the Milan Design Week 2011.
Inspired by the futuristic world of the Disney film TRON: Legacy, Tron Armchair is a product strongly material: his features reminiscent the rocky and edgy landscape which surround the digital world of Tron. A truly sculpture composed of intersections of volumes and textures of 'digital' rock. Initially made of fiber glass in 4 pieces individually hand-finished—each uniquely designed—by New York designer Dror for the event DesignMiami / ArtBasel, Tron Armchair is now presented for the mass production using the roto-molding technique, in different shades of color and 100% recyclable material and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Sky, water, stone and grass are the inspiring elements of the colour palette.

During the Milan Design Week, Tron Armchair by Cappellini will be displayed also at "TRON designs CORIAN®", a design exhibition sponsored by DuPont™ Corian® dedicated to the world of TRON: Legacy. In this occasion, Giulio Cappellini and Dror will propose Tron Armchair in a special unique piece composed of fiber glass and back lit DuPont™ Corian® techno surface.
Tron Armchair states then the prosecution of the collaboration between Disney and Cappellini, to emphasize the value of design and creativity made in Italy.
