Domus India 25, January 2014
This issue of Domus India reviews projects where materials are pushed to articulate new meanings.
The Shantiniketan building by Mumbai-based RMA architects is a tussle with the idea of multiple dwelling units within one shell, while the other two buildings, also in Delhi, by Delhi-based vir.mueller architects, attempt a re-looking at not only the architectural typology, but also the active meaning-making potential of materials. KONA by NilaA Architecture and Urban Design brings to mind thoughts on infrastructure, physical and institutional. Also, selected works of artists Atul Dodiya and Mohan Samant reemphasise their creative journeys and their eminence in the Indian contemporary art world.
