Domus China #76
In the column “A Century of China’s Industrial Design” of Domus China 076, we presented the history and design characteristics of Red Lantern radio.

The Red Lantern radio was launched in 1960, and the choice of colors, materials and the design of logo catered to the aesthetic appreciation and the ideology of consumers in that period. In these chaotic years, Red Lantern radio satisfied people’s needs of entertainment, knowledge and information. Till the end of 1990, Red Lantern had sold 3 million items, and became the best seller among similar products. What’s more, Image of 076 presents architect Hua Li and his university days.
