Committed to corporate philanthropy, Guzzetti has been the President of Fondazione Cariplo since 5 February 1997, channeling his longstanding experience into what he calls “finance at the service of the people”: on the one hand, modern, well-organised philanthropy serving as a lever for social innovation and delivering thousands of projects every year; on the other, a consistent use of the Foundation’s assets (Mission Connected Investments) to support social-housing initiatives for young couples, students and the elderly. He is considered the “father” of bank foundations and plays a key role in the growth of non-profit organisations. The suburbs, urban regeneration and the renewal of social relationships in abandoned areas are his and Fondazione Cariplo’s core focus.
