"Fluid Crust Surgery" is a multimedia installation by Spanish artist Raquel Quevedo consisting of sculptures, two-dimensional works and projections. The exhibition in Marsèll is curated by Quei Studio and produced by the Danish gallery Etage Projects

The protagonist of the Alpha District will be the public spaces of the Portello district, transformed into open-air exhibition spaces: there will be open-air installations that can be visited 24 hours a day, and several projects and installations involving companies, designers, artists and insiders from all over the world

One of the most interesting exhibitions proposed by Alpha District is "Hysteria", a project linked to the figure of women but not an all-female initiative. FORO Studio, which is in charge of the entire district, invited a group of creative people to think about the theme of the feminine, creating a project starting each one from a specific sex toy

Among the proposals of BASE Milano we find the exhibition "Baratto", curated by Parasite 2.0. This group show is the materialisation of the Antropofago Productions project: a curated collection of objects, fanzines, sounds and an online shop on the famous independent music platform Bandcamp.

The Cross Cultural Chairs project is the result of designer Matteo Guarnaccia's journey around the world. Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Indonesia, China, India, Russia and Nigeria: in each of these countries Guarnaccia has produced a chair in collaboration with local designers and craftsmen. His research into socio-cultural differences is analysed through chairs. At BASE Milano the furnishings will be exhibited together for the first time.

Abet Laminati and curators Giulio Iacchetti and Matteo Ragni invited eight designers – Federico Angi, Zanellato Bortotto, Agustina Bottoni, Antonio de Marco, Chiara Moreschi, Martinelli Venezia, Panter & Tourron, Mario Scairato – to reinterpret Memphis' radical approach with a contemporary perspective.

Jorge Penadés, Sara Ricciardi, Tellurico and Richard Yasmine are the four internationally renowned designers invited by 5Vie to work with site-specific installations and performances in the district

With more than 90 events spread throughout the district, 130 exhibitors and 140 showrooms (with 15 new openings in 2021), the Brera Design District proves itself to be one of the most content-rich and attractive areas for the general public. Among the proposals we select the work of our favourite "young veteran": Elena Salmistraro. The designer presents at Spazio CEDIT a new capsule collection that interprets the Hotel Chimera installation, designed by Salmistraro herself for the company's showroom.

"Cheerfully Optimistic About the Future" is Michael Anastassiades' first solo exhibition in Italy. London-based designer's practice explores contemporary notions of culture and aesthetics through a combination of disciplines such as product design, furniture design and environmental design, often transcending distinctions between different areas of creativity. 

In September, Cambi presents CTMP Design Auction, a collectible contemporary design auction dedicated exclusively to the 21st century, with 160 objects and furniture signed by the best designers of the moment, selected by Mr.Lawrence studio. In conjunction with the Milan Design Week, some of the objects and furniture will be presented in an exhibition at Cambi's headquarters.

Camp Design Gallery closes.
It’s good, it’s natural.

"Camp se acaba, orgia en mi casa", is the final show presented at Camp Design Gallery, curated Stefano Fusani and Clara Hernandez (La Cube design studio). Fine Zine, an editorial project edited by Elisabetta Donati de Conti, will also be presented during the event.

Triennale Milano presents the exhibition "Carlo Mollino Allusioni Iperformali", curated by Marco Sammicheli, featuring the collection of furniture designed by Carlo Mollino for Casa Albonico in Turin

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pratone, designed by Gruppo Strum for Gufram, the company proposes a giant installation a stone's throw from the Duomo. The famous chair is presented in an inflatable version, with an eight-metre square base and a height of over 5 metres. Ah, you can walk through it!

Alcova, a project by Space Caviar and Studio Vedèt, opens to the public a new location a few steps from the Inganni metro station. Among the many proposals, we highlight The Great Design Disaster, an ambitious project conceived by Joy Herro and Gregory Gatserelia.Changing the laws of the market, the initiative brings a completely new conception to the system of collecting, bypassing the purchase phase and focusing exclusively on creation

“Some Vibrant Things” is Audrey Large’s solo exhibition at Nilufar Gallery. Straddling between art and object design, Large practice explores the potential of digital image manipulation processes applied to the design of our material surroundings. In a context of exponential digitization, she positions her practice in an interdisciplinary form of design that uses digital cinema as a field of research to rethink object design methodologies. By bridging film making techniques with digital-to-material manufacturing processes her work seeks to define the keys to a new materiality.
