The use and reuse of everyday objects is the theme which forms the centre of an exhibition at the Brazilian Embassy in Rome. It has been organised by a group of 11 Brazilian designers based in Sao Paolo, “notechdesign”, who come from a variety of backgrounds, ranging from fashion to architecture, graphic design, town planning, jewellery and industrial design.

They have been working together since 2000 when they took part in a course run by fellow Brazilians Fernando and Humberto Campana, the group of 11 share a humorous approach to design which is often on the confines between art and design, taking into account however sustainability and the functional aspect of objects. The name “notechdesign” sums up their philosophy, creativity has to maintain its autonomy with respect to technology and industrial production.
